Join CSIRO’s Marine National Facility (MNF) and play a key role in delivering nationally significant marine research. We have two opportunities available for Voyage Delivery Coordinators who will coordinate the safe and effective delivery of the research voyage schedule, supporting multidisciplinary science campaigns across Australia’s vast marine estate. Working within a collaborative operations team, you’ll partner with researchers, vessel crews and stakeholders to plan and deliver complex voyages aboard RV Investigator and other platforms, ensuring every mission is well-prepared, safe and set up for success. These roles also offer the opportunity to contribute to voyage delivery at sea, with periods of travel of up to 60 days at a time. We are looking for people with a unique blend of administration, technical delivery and people management capability. Job Responsibility
Coordinating the provision of advice to stakeholders on vessel and equipment capability, technical support requirements, policies, procedures and standards
Managing the provision of advice and practical support on technical challenges that arise during the planning and execution of research voyages
Coordinating technical review and input of voyage plans, equipment and support to optimise MNF voyage outcomes
Providing routine logistical support for Investigator voyages, including port security and equipment requirements
Managing a range of resources to deliver voyage objectives
Ensuring compliance with organisational and Commonwealth requirements
Requirements
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, contributing in a positive and professional manner
Project management capability to deliver logistical, operational and technical outcomes within tight timeframes and competing priorities, using Microsoft 365 and other relevant coordination tools
A strong commitment to health, safety and environment (HSE) and continuous improvement, including the ability to prepare and apply appropriate documentation and procedures for specific activities
Superior oral and written communication skills to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, negotiate operational outcomes, and deliver clear presentations and briefings
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with demonstrated ability to apply policy and sound judgement when resolving personnel challenges
