Job Description:

A Volunteer Reception Assistant at Derian House plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment for visitors, including families, professionals, and supporters. They are the first point of contact and help ensure that every visitor feels comfortable.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide a warm & friendly reception service
  • Answering phone calls and handling enquiries
  • Keeping the reception and shop area tidy and well-stocked
  • Dealing with donations, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
  • Handling cash and card payment for shop purchases
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail

Requirements:

  • Friendly, confident, helpful, and approachable
  • Comfortable meeting new people regularly
  • Reliable and able to commit to a weekly shift
  • Experienced in a similar role (preferred)
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, respect, and dignity
  • Possessing excellent communication skills
  • Volunteers must be aged 18yrs plus
