Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Organiser to join our friendly team at our Pannel Croft Retirement Village and support the village’s commitment in delivering ExtraCare’s mission of “better lives for older people”.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead on the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers both within and outside of the Village in line with the Volunteering strategy and policy
  • Raise the profile of volunteering within the Village to staff, residents, and visitors
  • Work with the Activities Coordinator at the Village to ensure appropriate numbers of Volunteers are available to assist with events and activities
  • To develop partnerships with external organisations such as universities, colleges, and local volunteer centres to build the Villages volunteer base
  • To encourage residents to contribute to the running of their location through volunteering
  • To co-ordinate the induction of all new volunteers
  • To host an annual volunteer recognition event

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills and able to build rapport with volunteers and residents
  • Ability to be an effective influencer and engaging
  • Good networking skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic with initiative
  • Fully flexible as this role requires some weekend working and Bank holidays on a rota basis
