Job Description:

Our hospice gardens are a place of joy and escape - where children can play pirates aboard our Seaside Garden boat, whirl around in the play park, or explore the sights and scents of our colourful sensory garden. As a Volunteer Gardening Assistant, you'll help keep these special spaces looking their best. You'll be supporting our Gardener to make sure every path, flowerbed and lawn is a welcoming space for our babies, children, young people and families to enjoy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Helping with hedge and grass cutting
  • Sweeping and clearing leaves, twigs, and debris
  • Weeding and caring for plants
  • Getting hands-on with seasonal planting
  • Painting fences, benches, or decking areas

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 16+
  • Love of the outdoors
  • Willingness to learn
  • Desire to make a difference
  • Friendly, hands-on
  • Don't mind getting muddy
  • Enjoy being outdoors in all weathers

  • As time allows, coordinate Volunteer Group Projects including but not limited to, decorating a bedroom, preparing for holiday parties and specials events, planting a vegetable garden, teaching a hobby, and organizing living spaces in the home
