Come join our dynamic team! The city of Newton is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Volunteer Coordinator. The position is responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of a comprehensive volunteer program supporting the Older Adult Services Department. Reporting to the Program Director, this position recruits, screens, trains, places, and supports volunteers to ensure effective service delivery that enhances departmental programs and meets the needs of older adults. The Volunteer Coordinator works to expand and diversify the volunteer pool, identify service gaps that may be addressed through volunteer engagement, and cultivate meaningful volunteer opportunities aligned with departmental goals. The position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as sensitivity in working with older adults, volunteers, and community partners, and all other related work as required and directed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, hiring salary range: $62,791 – $84,382 annually plus yearly step increases, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of our team of dedicated public servants.
