Job Description:

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for developing and leading a volunteer service whose key focus is to meet the interests of residents by matching them with a volunteer from their local community. This is a permanent part-time position based in Scone, offering the flexibility to work the equivalent of two days per week, either over two full days or spread across three days (Tuesday to Thursday).

Job Responsibility:

  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to build a volunteer service that compliments the needs of HammondCare Residential service and clients
  • Attracting, recruiting and onboarding volunteers, matching their interests with suitable opportunities
  • Managing and mentoring volunteers, supporting them with both online and onsite face-to-face training as well as coordinating social volunteer events
  • Maintaining accurate records in our volunteer database (Salesforce) and following established processes and guidelines for Volunteer Services
  • Managing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme

Requirements:

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • Demonstrated experience in an Administration/ Coordination position
  • Demonstrated experience where relationship building is a prominent component of your role
  • Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with others
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport quickly and work with people at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Preferred experience in recruitment particularly of volunteers
