The Wellesley Council on Aging (COA) moved into the beautiful, free-standing Tolles Parsons Center in the fall of 2017. With 13,000 square feet of dedicated space, the number of programs, activities, and services offered by the COA has expanded significantly. Many of these offerings are supported, facilitated, or managed by volunteers. The COA is seeking a dynamic Volunteer Coordinator to oversee its volunteer service program and to continue expanding the COA’s volunteer services and volunteer pool to meet the needs created by the new center. Reporting to the Director of Senior Services.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the volunteer service program
continue expanding the COA’s volunteer services and volunteer pool to meet the needs created by the new center
identifying the needs of seniors that can be met by volunteers
developing programs and recruiting volunteers to assist in meeting those needs
maintaining records
engaging frequently with people of all ages
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
two to five years of supervisory experience
excellent interpersonal skills—especially with the senior population
outstanding oral and written communication, organizational, coordination, computer, and time management skills
a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
