Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to cross-sell/up-sell products with a focus on Voluntary and Vision cross sell into our Medical new and existing business
  • Performs business development activities in pursuit of new growth channels and identifies potential new clients and strategies to drive RFP opportunities and creating off cycle proactive quotes
  • Align with the various Medical Center of Excellence teams ( National Account New Business, National Account Existing, and Middle Market) to create strategies and deploy tactics to optimize cross sell success and achieve joint cross sell goals
  • Collaborates with Market Heads on the annual growth planning process, driving and developing long-range strategic plans, objectives and tactics
  • Coordinate with our various formal benefit administration and enrollment partners to ensure that they fully understand and can articulate our value prop and that our team is able to do the same for their firms
  • Create joint value prop messaging for our valued plan sponsor and broker partnerships
  • When feasible, leverage our existing Medical relationships that align with benefit administration and plan sponsors to ease the process of adding our Voluntary products to our joint plan sponsor customers
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive strategic plan which results in increased sales and maximized profitability by expanding penetration of existing products and cross/up-selling other Aetna products
  • Meets with Account Executives regularly to identify growth opportunities, any changes occurring with the Plan Sponsor, and determines where support is required
  • Occasionally participates in finalist preparation and provide subject matter expertise
  • Updates external/internal constituents on Aetna capabilities to create business opportunities and/or enhance the perception and understanding of Aetna capabilities
  • Delivers organized, polished presentations of solutions, with benefits tied to the constituent’s business needs
  • Identifies and capitalizes on emerging trends in the marketplace by participating in community and industry events as an Aetna representative
  • Develops actionable strategies, and dashboards to gain a competitive advantage and determine the best means to communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Provided expert talks to industry/cooperative organizations

Requirements:

  • 7-10 Years of relevant industry experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex financial principles
  • Ability to provide guidance, troubleshoot and answer complex questions related to an area of expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership with relevant initiatives: Business process, enterprise business project management/consulting, financial strategic planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, risk management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Masters preferred
  • Or equivalent work experience
