Are you looking to share your carpentry skills and industry experience with the next generation? Do you want to move into the education sector and make a real difference to learners’ lives? We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Vocational Support Practitioner (VSP) to join our Construction & Building Environment team within our Carpentry Specialism. You will work closely with teaching staff to support learners in practical workshop sessions, helping to create a safe, well‑prepared, and engaging learning environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong industry experience who enjoys hands‑on work and supporting others to succeed.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting teachers and learners within a classroom and practical workshop setting
  • Preparing workshops with appropriate materials, tools, and equipment ready for use
  • Coaching and supporting learners during practical carpentry activities
  • Tidying workshops after sessions and supporting the maintenance of tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Industry experience within carpentry or construction
  • Relevant City & Guilds Carpentry qualifications (or equivalent)
  • A strong work ethic with a practical, hands‑on approach
  • An interest in working with learners and developing a career within education.
