Job Description:

Our client, a large VAR and systems integrator, is looking to hire a remote VMware NSX Architect for a 200-hour contract. The consultant will work 24 hours per week for the next 8+ weeks. The consultant will be supporting a project with a large financial services customer. The consultant is expected to have expertise in network virtualization, micro-segmentation, and advanced security solutions, including VMware VDefend. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing NSX environments to support secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Requirements:

  • Experience designing and architecting VMware NSX solutions (NSX-T/NSX+) aligned with business and technical requirements
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, BGP, OSPF)
  • Experience leading implementation of network virtualization, micro-segmentation, and zero-trust security architectures
  • Experience deploying and managing VMware VDefend
  • Ability to collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to integrate NSX with existing systems and tools
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud networking
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation tools (PowerCLI, Python, REST APIs)
