Job Description

The VMware Infrastructure Support Engineer role involves providing high-quality support and management of VMware vSphere environments, collaborating with teams, and ensuring SLA compliance while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Administer, operate, and manage VMware vSphere datacenter environments
  • Perform ESXi and vCenter upgrades, including CLI‑based operations
  • Configure and manage vCenter HA, DRS, and cluster features
  • Handle virtual machine operations, configurations, and performance monitoring
  • Manage vSphere networking (Standard Switch, Distributed Switch) and storage (iSCSI, FC, RDM, vSAN, SRM)
  • Implement vSphere security measures and ESXi hardening
  • Use VMware PowerCLI scripting for automation tasks
  • Provide customer support via phone, email, and remote sessions
  • Escalate issues to vendors per process guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross‑technology teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues
  • Maintain SLA compliance, documentation quality, and operational metrics
  • Drive problem management, RCA, and post‑incident reviews
  • Contribute to team productivity measures and scorecard performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise managed services (VMware focus)
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 support environment
  • Certifications preferred: VMware VCP, RHCSA, CCNA, ITIL
  • Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, networking, storage, and security
  • Basic understanding of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Linux OS, and physical network/storage technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus with cultural sensitivity and adaptability
  • Ability to take ownership, deliver high‑quality support, and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Team collaboration mindset — supporting peers and seeking advice for complex decisions

Nice to have

  • Certifications preferred: VMware VCP, RHCSA, CCNA, ITIL
  • Basic understanding of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Linux OS, and physical network/storage technologies
