Job Description:

The VMware Aria Automation Engineer will manage and optimize the VMware Aria Automation platform, ensuring operational excellence across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The role requires strong expertise in cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code, and collaboration with DevOps teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the administration, configuration, and lifecycle management of the VMware Aria Automation platform
  • Ensure platform performance, availability, scalability, and operational excellence
  • Design, maintain, and enhance the self-service portal enabling users to request and manage IT resources
  • Develop and manage service catalog items, resource blueprints, and entitlement policies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to standardize service offerings and improve user experience
  • Develop and manage automated workflows for provisioning virtual machines, applications, networks, and storage
  • Enable full lifecycle management, including monitoring, scaling, patching, backup workflows, and decommissioning
  • Ensure automation reduces manual intervention, improves efficiency, and maintains operational consistency
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using YAML, blueprints, and automation templates
  • Maintain version-controlled, reusable, and repeatable infrastructure definitions
  • Work with DevOps and engineering teams to standardize IaC practices
  • Configure and manage deployments across on-premise, private, and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Provide unified governance and visibility into resources across all cloud endpoints
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization and drive cost efficiency
  • Implement policies related to access control, resource quotas, approvals, and compliance frameworks
  • Ensure all deployments adhere to organizational standards, security requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain detailed documentation and audit trails for governance
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to automate environment provisioning for development, testing, and production pipelines
  • Integrate VMware Aria Automation with CI/CD tools to accelerate application delivery and reduce deployment times
  • Integrate Aria Automation with VMware Aria Operations, Aria Automation Orchestrator, and other VMware products
  • Develop integrations with third-party tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and ServiceNow
  • Create end-to-end automation workflows across multi-tool ecosystems

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years of experience in cloud automation, virtualization, or infrastructure engineering
  • Hands-on experience with VMware Aria Automation / vRealize Automation
  • Strong knowledge of multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud concepts
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation scripting (Python, PowerShell), and YAML templates
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
  • Solid understanding of IT governance, policy management, and compliance principles
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Nice to have:

  • VMware certifications (VCP-CMP, VCP-CMA, VCAP-CMA)
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or similar automation frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in large enterprise environments
