IKEA Belfast are looking to welcome a Visual Merchandising Manager. This is a full-time, permanent role based in-store. You’ll lead a passionate VM/Activity team who bring life at home into the store, turning customer insights into beautiful and functional solutions that inspire. By using the layout as a commercial tool, acting fast on trends and opportunities, and keeping the visitor experience at the heart of everything, you’ll help make IKEA the home‑furnishing destination of choice—while developing a strong, capable team for the future.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and inspire the Visual Merchandising/Activity team to use knowledge of IKEA home furnishing and people's life at home to grow the business
Turn insights from home visit interviews into functional, beautiful and commercially smart home‑furnishing solutions that inspire customers the IKEA way
Act quickly to capitalise on commercial opportunities, maintaining deep and up-to-date knowledge about home furnishing, retailing and trends
Ensure the team always keep visitors in mind, disruption is minimised and communicate changes when working on the shop floor
Securing the use of the store layout as a commercial tool to plan and implement commercial strategies throughout the store
Be responsible for the recruitment and competence development of the team
Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market
Requirements:
Leadership and visual merchandising experience in a home furnishing retail environment
Passion for home furnishings and a customer focused mindset
Interior design-based education and knowledge in design software such as Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (not essential)
Confidence to express ideas and opinions effectively through effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to assist, support and develop in a innovative environment
Skills needed to devise and implement action plans, set expectations, provide clear direction and follow up goals
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Working withing budgets and timelines
Nice to have:
Interior design-based education and knowledge in design software such as Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
