Job Description:

Meta Wearables is looking for a product-minded Visual Designer to join the Product Creative team. Product Creative uses design and systems thinking to create the goals and experiences that make Meta Wearables trend-setting, distinct, and loved by customers. The Visual Designer will be responsible for bringing our brand expression system to life in product. You will partner with product design to develop experiences in product, driving creative innovation and delivering brand guidance. You’ll also play a role in continually expanding the Wearables Brand Identity system and will lead multidisciplinary projects that bridge brand work across interactive, printed and environmental applications. You will work on your own but also collaborate closely with designers, engineers, content design and marketing to define and ensure a coherent brand expression across our ecosystem. This role works on up-leveling craft of our visual language within the product experience and design system. Your work will improve user experience by enabling intuitive navigation and strengthening brand identity. Communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will partner with UX/UI designers, engineers, product designers, and other multidisciplinary teams across Meta. You'll cover the design spectrum – from quick, rough ideation to final deliverables across multiple projects – we'll look for work that thinks big and gets attention, but also follows a conceptual thread down to the smallest details. You'll be expected to think systematically, strategically defend design decisions and iterate quickly.

Job Responsibility:

  • Concept, prototype and execute brand and marketing experiences in product
  • Clearly communicate strategic thinking and design decisions to a variety of partners
  • Give and solicit feedback from your product and UX design peers in service of building the best products
  • Collaborate daily with peers in every discipline, including engineering, content, research, marketing and data science, to take products from conception to launch
  • Deliver high-craft work on multiple projects simultaneously, keep project timelines on track and show progress
  • Proactively identify and work on projects that span multiple teams. This may involve facilitating or co-facilitating design sprints and workshops to kick off these projects
  • Collaborate with product designers and teams to understand goals and deliver high-quality iconography
  • Develop and articulate clear ideas, concepts, and designs for creative assets from concept through execution
  • Partner with other designers to ensure a consistent and integrated brand perception and user experience
  • Translate product needs into visually compelling, and emotionally engaging designs
  • Manage and incorporate feedback from partners and stakeholders
  • Provide and solicit constructive feedback to continually elevate design quality

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of professional experience in visual design, design systems, and applications across digital experiences on web, desktop, and mobile (iOS + Android)
  • A portfolio that demonstrates branding, product and communication design experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on a product team
  • Demonstrated experience in digital transformation and design system-thinking
  • Proven experience designing and implementing icon systems at scale for large products or services
  • Experience in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Demonstrated collaboration experience with cross-functional teams, resulting in improved consistency and quality across deliverables
  • Demonstrated success in elevating design standards and consistently driving quality through attention to detail
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of conveying design direction clearly to both creative and non-creative stakeholders
  • Proven track record of thriving in time-sensitive environments, effectively prioritizing tasks, and managing time to meet deadlines
  • Up-to-date knowledge of visual design technologies and industry trends in fashion and technology
  • Experience collaborating with UX Researchers and applying research findings to inform design decisions
  • Familiarity with 3D design and motion/animation
  • Experience bringing ideas to life with high quality visuals or prototypes using creative software and other tools

Nice to have:

  • Motion experience with AfterEffects or Cinema4D, especially Lottie
