Job Responsibility:
Direct the food service staff in preparation and service of food in a residence hall serving unit
Monitor daily food production and presentation to ensure conformance with prescribed menus, recipes, and quality standards
Implement training programs for support staff
Receive and resolve customer concerns or suggestions
Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety procedures
Assist in banquet coordination and special event planning
Maintain accurate accounting and inventory records
Requirements:
Completion of a four-year college degree or equivalent in a relevant field
One to three years of progressively responsible work experience in food service or related areas
Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
Ability to manage and train staff
Familiarity with food preparation equipment
Strong customer service skills
Willingness to work scheduled hours including evenings, weekends, and alternating weekends off
Knowledge equivalent to completion of a four-year degree in Hotel Restaurant and Institutions Management, Business Administration, Dietetics, Food Systems and Economics Management or Nutrition
One to three years of related and progressively responsible experience in customer relations, food service practices, sanitation and safety procedures, and supervisory tasks
Experience in food handling, food service production, banquet coordination, and event planning
