The Department of Art at Wake Forest University invites applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of History of Modern and Contemporary Architecture, to begin July 1, 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Teach three courses per semester, with a M/W/F schedule
Teach Art 105: A Global History of Architecture (40 students)
Teach Art 288: Modern/Contemporary Architecture (28 students)
Teach Art 101: Engaging with Art (15 students)
Spring courses can include upper-level lecture classes in the candidate’s area(s) of specialization
Requirements:
Experience teaching an architectural history course as the primary instructor at the university level
Ph.D. in Art/Architectural History
Candidates who will graduate in May 2026 will be considered
