Job Description
The Visiting Assistant Professor of Accountancy will have responsibility for research, teaching, and service. We are open to applicants with a variety of perspectives, research and teaching interests and methodological approaches. We have a preference for candidates with a particular interest in teaching financial accounting but are open to other areas of expertise.
Job Responsibility
Teach six courses during the academic year, which may include fall, winter, and/or spring quarters.
Participate in the academic life of the School of Accountancy and the Daniels College of Business.
Attend faculty meetings, participate in assurance of learning, curriculum development, and active engagement in scholarly activities such as research symposia.
Requirements
Earned doctorate in accounting or closely related field from an AACSB accredited school. ABD will be considered. The doctoral degree must be completed no later than March 31 of the first year of employment at Daniels. Candidates will hold the title of Instructor until completion of the doctoral degree.
Demonstrated potential for strong performance in teaching, research, and service as defined under Essential Functions.
Strong English communication skills (written and oral).
Nice to have
Publications in Financial Times Top 50 journals, those ranked A* by the Australian Business Deans Council, and those ranked 4 or higher in the Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Guide.
CA, CPA, CMA or other professional certification in accounting or a related area of expertise.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a variety of teaching methods and/or curricular perspectives.
Demonstrated experience engaging inclusive populations and students with different learning styles.
