We are seeking an experienced VMware Virtualization Engineer (7–10 years) to support, manage, and enhance our production virtualization environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in VMware, Linux administration, networking, and cloud concepts. This role requires solid troubleshooting skills, strong operational discipline, and experience managing high‑availability systems in fast‑paced enterprise environments.
Job Responsibility:
Provide L3 support for production VMware environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
Manage and troubleshoot VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, datastores, and virtual networking
Maintain high‑availability virtualization platforms and perform capacity planning and performance tuning
Support Linux servers—filesystem management, permissions, networking, DNS, system troubleshooting
Work closely with cross‑functional teams during outages, ensuring quick resolution
Implement ITIL/Agile/DevOps/SRE practices in day‑to‑day operations
Automate operational tasks using Python or other scripting languages
Prepare documentation, SOPs, and technical runbooks
Collaborate effectively with developers, engineers, and remote teams
Participate in on‑call rotation and handle critical escalations
Requirements:
7–10 years of experience supporting VMware virtualization in production environments
Strong experience in installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining VMware ESXi & vCenter
Sound knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing concepts
3–5 years of Linux administration experience (filesystems, DNS, networking, system troubleshooting)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, VLANs, routing, switching, etc.
Experience maintaining high‑availability systems
Hands-on experience with Python scripting for automation
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high‑priority tasks
Experience with ITIL, Agile, DevOps, or SRE principles
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have:
Experience with configuration automation tools like Ansible (writing playbooks)
Exposure to cloud virtualization or hybrid cloud setups
Experience with monitoring/observability tools for infra performance
Familiarity with backup/recovery tools and DR processes
Experience working with global or distributed teams
