Virtualization Engineer

• Administer and maintain Cisco HyperFlex clusters and VMware vSphere infrastructure
• Monitor system health and VM performance using vCenter and UCS Manager
• Plan and execute patching of HyperFlex and VMware hosts to ensure security and compliance
• Provision and manage virtual machines, datastores, and virtual networking components
• Conduct full lifecycle disaster recovery tests, including VM failover and rollback procedures
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents related to virtualization infrastructure
• Develop and maintain capacity plans for CPU, memory, and storage resources
• Implement and test backup, snapshot, and recovery configurations
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to support uptime
• Document system changes, patch schedules, architecture diagrams, and procedures
• Support automation initiatives for virtual server lifecycle management
• Analyze logs, alerts, and performance metrics to proactively address issues
• Ensure compliance with security and patch management policies
• Assist with system migrations, server provisioning, and decommissioning tasks
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for infrastructure-related incidents
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing activities

• Hands-on experience with vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, UCS Manager
• Strong understanding of virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, and data replication
• Knowledge of virtual networking (VLANs, vSwitches, Distributed Switches)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and networking layers
• Effective documentation and communication skills in a team-based IT environment
