An opportunity for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI also called VAD - Virtual Apps & Desktop) Technology Specialist (h/f) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane. The VDI solution (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure also called VAD standing for Virtual Apps & Desktop) is our major technical product serving our Extended Enterprise business cases (mainly 2D use cases). The VDI solution is also at the core of the transformation of the IT environment of the Product LifeCycle Management (PLM) community answering Design Office engineers' 3D use cases (3DExperience, Catia, …) in the frame of Airbus Digital Design, Manufacturing & Services (DDMS) program. In that business context the VDI solution being critical for AH company, we are looking for a talent profile to strengthen the team in charge of those solutions. As the VDI Technology Specialist, you are contributing to both projects and run activities as soon as there is a need to advise and deliver VDI technology working closely with the EE solution architect and the VDI product manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • To deliver VDI/VAD solutions design and Support solution architects during the definition of the VDI/VAD solution to address business requirements in the frame of projects
  • To support in the delivery of POC
  • To define the Airbus Helicopters VDI technological orientation axes of both infrastructure and services
  • To act as the Airbus Helicopters VDI referent taking part in Airbus Group projects or any cross divisional initiatives involving VDI technology
  • To manage and resolve the most complex technical incident on VDI/VAD serving as the ultimate escalation point and providing in-depth expertise (Marignane and Donauworth Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops solutions)
  • To prove value of VDI new technologies to establish business case and to update the company guidelines and policies regarding the use of VDI technology
  • To advise on specific topics related to the VDI technology
  • To monitor VDI technology and to support the teams to apply these within the Airbus Environment
  • To guide and support the selection of the appropriate VDI technologies
  • To monitor VDI technological trends and to use this knowledge to bring solutions to business to enhance their competitive edge
  • To make recommendations for buy versus build decisions
  • To mentor and to develop team members sharing VDI expertise and contributing to their skill development

Requirements:

  • Master's degree level (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field
  • VDI/VAD & Netscaler competencies (Citrix mandatory, Omnissa Horizon is a plus) and confirmed experience in this expertise domain
  • Strong IT background (operating systems, network, cyber security) with experience of 5 to 10 years in IT operational environment ensuring the vision and the integration on the IT landscape
  • Good understanding of business requirements, customer service oriented and focus on quality deliverables
