Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Virtual Commissioning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing virtual commissioning tasks to simulate, configure, and test automation systems and machinery. The goal is to optimize system performance, verify functionality, and minimize downtime before physical commissioning.

Job Responsibility

  • Virtual System Simulation: Design and implement virtual commissioning strategies for automated systems, including machinery, robots, control systems, and sensors
  • Software Integration: Integrate and configure simulation software with hardware models, control systems (PLC, SCADA), and other industrial equipment
  • Testing and Optimization: Perform virtual testing of control algorithms, process flows, and user interfaces to ensure accurate operation, safety, and performance of automated systems
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve issues, discrepancies, or errors in system behavior during virtual commissioning processes
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the design, engineering, and project teams to ensure accurate system specifications and configuration are aligned with project goals
  • Documentation: Create detailed commissioning reports, technical specifications, and system performance documentation
  • Training and Support: Provide training to operational staff on the virtual commissioning process and assist with the transition to physical commissioning
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to the virtual commissioning methodology, tools, and processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, and control systems
  • Experience with simulation software such as Siemens PLC, Rockwell Automation, or other industrial automation simulation tools
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, C++, or Ladder Logic for PLCs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in teams to meet project deadlines
  • Experience in virtual commissioning and simulation tools in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with 3D simulation platforms (e.g., Autodesk, TwinCAT, or others)
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508) and cybersecurity best practices
