Job Title: Virtual Analyst. Location: Schenectady, NY. FTE Only.

Job Responsibility:

  • VDI Infrastructure Development & Management
  • Create new VDI Master images and provide VDI administration in the domain and sub domain pertaining to VDI clients
  • Create Virtualization using VMWare, VMWare product suite (ESX, Horizon, Vcenter, Cloud Volume, vGPU’s, etc.)
  • Perform VMware virtualization that includes ESX, Server migrations, DRS, HA, vMotion, Horizon, vCenter and vROPs
  • Perform VDI rollout within defined standards and practices
  • Software installation on VM’s and its Management
  • Vmware Migration and upgrades
  • Work and track the activity to closure for all incidents that are received via ServiceNow tool
  • Address, complete and track the activities to closure for the items assigned in Rally following the rules set by the governance team leader
  • Patches and bug fixes
  • Install Service Packs and Security configurations
  • Resolve job failures and data defects
  • Group Policy – Enforce Policy in the User Machines
  • Storage Management – Manage Data Storage
  • Monitoring and alerting for job failures
  • Install client applications on VDI (Project specific Software tools, Java, Anaconda, kubectl, containerd, visual studio, .NET tools etc.,)
  • Create or map storage exports for NFS and ISILO
  • Support server repairs/replacements with vendors/suppliers
  • Work involves Export Control Jobs

Requirements:

  • VMWare(ESX, Horizon, Vcenter, Cloud Volume, vGPU’s, etc.) Windows, RHEL OS Experience
  • Strong virtualization knowledge
  • Software installation procedures on VDI
  • Provision VDIs on Amazon Workspace
  • Linux Networking fundamentals (net groups etc.,)
  • Awareness of containerization technology
  • NFS and ISOLON storage class
