The Energy + Group (“EPG”) at Societe Generale has had a long-standing presence in energy project finance, and a market-leader position in advising and lending to multi-billion dollar projects in the Americas region. The team is based in two locations, New York and Houston. We also have teams globally in the Europe, Asia, and Australia. In providing our advice and funding, we collaborate with specialists across the range of energy subsectors in which project finance and acquisition finance are utilized, including power and renewables; energy transition technologies; midstream, including oil and gas pipelines/processing, storage, LNG; petrochemicals, refining, and fertilizers. In addition to our debt advisory and lending business, we can support clients with a full spectrum of capital solutions through the wider Global Banking and Investor Services division that entails M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Equity Private Placements, Debt Capital Markets, Project Bonds, and interest rate hedging. The EPG Analyst position is for the Houston Office of the EPG Group.
Job Responsibility:
Support senior bankers who manage client relationships, source, originate, develop, and often execute Project Finance Debt Advisory, Acquisition Finance, and Equity Private Placement Advisory across the entire Energy chain
Assist in financial and cash flow modelling for financing and/or advisory mandates
Assist in the on-boarding of new clients and ongoing monitoring and management of the existing portfolio, including maintenance of internal credit ratings and LGD, Know Your Customer, etc.
Review due diligence and financing documents and assist in the preparation of credit analysis and credit applications on financing transactions
Perform market research (industry, company, etc.)
Assist in developing and preparing marketing pitches
General support, as required, within Energy Project Finance, including contribution to effective teamwork within the global team and with other groups in the bank
Comply with all Internal Policies, including Code of Conduct, and risk and regulatory obligations, where relevant
Requirements:
Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance/Economics/Accounting/Engineering
Previous experience in the Energy Sector/Natural Resources sector (especially Project/Structured Finance) and/or credit analysis and financial/cash flow modelling skills
Fluent in English (B2-C1)
Excellent writing communication and presentation skills
Proficient/Good command of MS Office, especially Excel
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
