Job Description:

Join us, because history doesn’t write itself… Wrexham AFC are delighted to offer paid internships for the 2026 / 27 season. We truly believe in the power of potential — and there’s nothing more rewarding than helping the next generation find their feet and flourish. As our club continues to grow and strive to make our community proud, we’re excited to open our doors to passionate, driven young people who want to be part of that journey. This is a chance to gain meaningful, hands-on experience, build confidence, and take those all-important first steps toward a bright and successful future. These placements are designed for students who have recently completed a relevant degree or those undertaking a required “year in industry” as part of their course — ready to turn their knowledge into real impact while growing alongside us. This placement is subject to an enhanced DBS check (with Children’s Barred list). The successful candidate will gain experience within a fast-growing football media environment, working with professional colleagues with years of sports media experience. The Wrexham AFC Media and Communications department has a strong history of helping students develop the skills for full-time jobs within the industry, with many former students and employees going on to earn full-time jobs either at Wrexham AFC or further afield – including Premier League clubs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Capturing and editing video content for the Football Club across the men’s and women’s first teams and Academy
  • This includes behind-the-scenes content at training, matchday coverage, interviews and features for use on social media, the Club’s YouTube channel and across our digital platforms
  • The role will also include covering Wrexham AFC Foundation events and collaboration with other departments within the Football Club to assist with the promotion of key stakeholder events and activities and marketing support
  • You will work with the Digital and Content, and Marketing teams to help plan and collaborate on projects in accordance with the Club’s content calendar – ensuring alignment with wider marketing activity
  • The successful candidate will create content that retains the Club’s expected standards of quality, consistency and adherence to brand guidelines, working to tight deadlines
  • Production standards include filming, lighting, audio and editing

Requirements:

  • Excellent videography skills – both shooting and in post-production
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or similar editing software
  • A keen interest in sports media and video production
  • Strong interest, knowledge and understanding of football
  • A creative approach to content generation, and an interest in the wider football media landscape and social media trends
  • Strong organisational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously – working to a content calendar and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude
  • A professional approach to working with high-level individuals both within football and the wider entertainment industry
  • The ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion
  • Flexible approach to working hours

Nice to have:

  • Experience of covering live sport, particularly football
  • Provable work experience in similar roles, both covering live sport and interviews
  • A full driving license, and/or the ability to travel between different Club sites as required
  • Degree in Video Production, Media Production or similar
What we offer:
  • Enhanced holidays
  • Enhanced pension
  • Enhanced sick leave
  • Health and wellbeing time off
  • Volunteering day
  • Wrexham AFC retail discounts
  • Matchday Tickets
