The Vice President, Strategic Solutions Advisory is an elite, high-impact executive-level individual contributor (IC) role within our global presales organization, reporting directly to the SVP, Presales. Operating at the Radford E1 level, you will serve as the chief solutions strategist and executive advisor for BlackLine's most critical, global, and high-value strategic accounts. Acting as a trusted advisor to C-suite clients and a peer to internal sales and product executives, you will leverage your deep product expertise and industry authority to architect solutions that solve complex financial and business challenges at the highest enterprise level. In this distinguished individual contributor capacity, you will personally champion our most critical deals and drive global solution strategy while providing visionary leadership, mentorship, and best-practice direction to the broader Solutions Advisory community.
Job Responsibility
Executive Solutions Leadership: Spearhead the solutions strategy for BlackLine's premier global accounts, personally leading discovery, solution architecture, and executive presentations for high-stakes, multi-million dollar deals
C-Suite Advisory & Influence: Establish and maintain deep, trusted advisor relationships with CFOs, CIOs, and other senior finance executives in both customer and prospect accounts, acting as an industry thought leader on finance transformation
Strategic GTM Partnership: Partner closely with Sales Executives and GTM leaders to formulate and execute strategic account plans that maximize customer value, expand market share, and drive long-term revenue growth
Global Enterprise Architecture: Architect and document highly complex, multi-product solutions and integrations that connect BlackLine with global enterprise systems (ERPs, subledgers, and modern digital finance ecosystems)
Executive Product Liaison: Channel insights from elite, complex accounts directly to Product Management and Engineering executives, influencing the strategic direction, design, and roadmap of the BlackLine product portfolio
Presales Excellence & Mentorship: Act as a leading mentor to senior and principal Solutions Advisors globally, establishing standards of excellence, sharing advanced advisory methodologies, and raising the technical capability of the team without direct administrative management responsibilities
Strategic Value and Asset Creation: Lead the creation and standardization of high-impact presales assets, including next-generation demonstration frameworks, business-value modeling (ROI), and executive-level messaging frameworks
Requirements
Experience: 15+ years of success in a presales, solutions advisory, or value engineering capacity within the enterprise software (SaaS) space. A minimum of 7 years must be spent leading the solution side of large, complex, and globally distributed accounts
Finance Domain Authority: Masterful understanding of the Office of the CFO, including deep expertise in the financial close, corporate accounting, compliance, and large-scale finance transformation initiatives
Executive Presence: Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to command the room and build alignment among C-level decision-makers
Business & Value Acumen: Superior financial acumen with a demonstrated capability of translating technical capabilities into tangible business outcomes, strategic value, and robust corporate ROI
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced professional qualification is highly preferred
