Our team is seeking a Vice President, Communications to join our Strategic Communications team in Washington DC to lead in crafting, and executing, cutting-edge communications strategy for clients ranging from nonprofits and advocacy groups to media start-ups and industry leaders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own client relationships and manage multiple large-scale projects and accounts

  • Oversees the development of high-impact integrated communications strategies and materials—including memos, decks, press releases, op-eds, speeches, social media strategy and content, paid media, data analysis and more—ensuring alignment with client objectives and audience insights
  • Leads media strategy across multiple initiatives, leveraging relationships and insights to advance client narratives
  • Anticipates trends, shapes storylines, and ensures teams deliver proactive, high-impact engagement
  • Guides teams in delivering sharp, persuasive message frameworks that drive results
  • Champions cross-functional collaboration across strategic communications, data, creative, and paid media teams to drive cohesive, high-impact outcomes
  • Commits to build knowledge across teams and share best practices
  • Keeps the internal team updated on changes and abreast of developments (e.g. leads productive internal meetings, clearly communicates deliverables and deadlines, brings in other teams when needed)
  • Leads effective meetings that drive results with external stakeholders
  • Leads and manages junior staff through 1:1s, goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in marketing communications, marketing performance analytics, digital media measurement (earned or owned), social media measurement, market research, or other related fields
  • Prior agency experience a strong plus
  • Direct client management experience
  • Experience with large organizations and multiple stakeholders a plus
  • Experience managing and guiding junior talent
  • Experience working with multiple clients at the same time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Creative, energetic, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit
