The UK & Europe Payments & Liquidity Product Sales Team sits within the broader Sales organization and plays a critical role in driving new and incremental Cash Management revenue, increasing wallet share, and strengthening Citi’s Payments and Liquidity franchise across Corporate and Public Sector clients. The role is integral to the full sales lifecycle for treasury and cash management solutions, leading both formal RFP processes and relationship‑led opportunities in close collaboration with Banking, Solution Sales, Client Executives, Product, Pricing, Marketing, and Implementation teams to win cluster, regional, and global mandates. The successful candidate will act as a deal leader and trusted treasury advisor, accountable for the end‑to‑end sales lifecycle—from opportunity identification and solution design through commercial negotiation, deal approval, and handover to implementation. This position is suited to a highly motivated sales professional who combines strong cash management expertise, disciplined execution, data‑driven decision making, and strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
Job Responsibility
Own and actively grow a high‑quality Payments & Liquidity sales pipeline, delivering against agreed TTS wins and revenue targets across rebids and new business
Drive net pipeline growth by progressing new opportunities, while actively managing churn risk
Lead deal execution end‑to‑end, ensuring timely progression, strong conversion rates, and disciplined deal management
Ensure 80%+ execution of live deals within the defined fiscal timelines, with proactive management of obstacles and dependencies
Maintain accurate, credible CRM pipelines, including opportunity updates, de‑commit discipline, win handovers, and post‑deal reviews
Act as a Payments & Liquidity subject matter expert, leading client conversations on treasury transformation, liquidity optimization, payment modernization, and digital enablement
Partner with Client Executives and Banking to identify client needs, uncover wallet share opportunities, and shape differentiated, value‑led propositions
Lead solution design and commercial structuring across the Payments & Liquidity portfolio, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Citi’s strategic priorities
Drive data‑driven origination, actively executing on campaign leads, analytics insights, and franchise priority initiatives
Provide high‑quality feedback and insights from client engagements and campaigns to support continuous improvement across Sales, Product, and Marketing
Lead complex RFPs and relationship‑led opportunities, defining win strategy, client positioning, and solution differentiation
Oversee the development of compelling, accurate, and client‑centric proposals and pitch materials, ensuring commercial rigor and consistency
Develop a strong understanding of client treasury environments, business models, and cash management requirements to support tailored solutioning
Proactively identify and manage risks, gaps, pricing considerations, and operational dependencies, escalating as needed
Embed and champion TTS Sales Disciplines (e.g., scorecard reviews and deal governance)
Leverage sales and data tools to drive insight‑led client conversations and prioritisation
Ensure timely, accurate, and complete CRM data, contributing to improved forecasting integrity and reduced deal rejections
Support CRM deal management, ensuring accurate and timely updates to pipeline data, opportunity status, sales cycle tracking, and reporting metrics
Support coordination with Project Management teams to ensure smooth transition from deal sign‑off to implementation
Demonstrate strong understanding and ownership of Citi’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework as it applies to Payments & Liquidity sales
Identify, assess, and actively manage risks arising from sales activities, ensuring early escalation and effective remediation
Ensure full compliance with Citi policies, including Code of Conduct, AML, Information Security, Data Governance, and Clean Desk requirements
Maintain a strong and stable control environment, with full ownership across CRM accuracy, EERS, Training, T&E, and audit preparedness
Operate as a trusted partner to Client Executives, Banking, Product, Pricing, Marketing, and Implementation teams
Bring together regional, cluster, and global partners to drive wallet share gains in priority clients
Role‑model collaboration, accountability, and ownership within the Payments & Liquidity Product Sales team
Contribute to a high‑performance sales culture through knowledge sharing, best‑practice adoption, and peer support
Requirements
Significant experience in Transaction Banking, Payments, Liquidity, Treasury Services, or a closely related client‑facing or product sales role
Strong working knowledge of Payments, Receivables, Liquidity, Digital Channels, and Treasury reporting solutions
Proven experience supporting or leading complex, multi‑stakeholder sales processes, including RFPs and structured deals
Demonstrated ability to manage pipelines, commercial outcomes, and CRM discipline in a matrixed organization
Experience operating within a risk‑controlled, regulated environment
University degree preferred
Cash Management or Treasury qualification (e.g., Cert ICM) advantageous but not required
