Robert Half is seeking an experienced Interim Vice President of Technology to provide executive-level leadership during a critical period of technology assessment, stabilization, and strategic planning for a large mission-driven organization. This interim leader will evaluate the current technology landscape, identify operational gaps and risks, and help shape a practical multi-year technology roadmap aligned with organizational priorities and future growth. This position is a temporary contract with the potential to extend or convert and is 100% Onsite in Portland, OR.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a comprehensive assessment of the current technology environment, including systems, integrations, governance, and team structure
Partner with a third-party advisory firm to develop a 3–5 year technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals
Evaluate recent enterprise system implementations and integrations to identify optimization opportunities
Provide executive leadership to internal IT staff, contractors, and consulting partners
Oversee technology vendors and integration partners, including managing upcoming partner transitions
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology priorities, investments, and sequencing
Balance immediate operational needs with long-term strategic initiatives
Support documentation, reporting, training, and change management efforts across departments
Help define the long-term technology leadership structure and prepare for a permanent executive hire
Requirements:
15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including VP, CIO, or equivalent executive-level roles
Proven experience leading technology assessments, stabilization initiatives, and strategic roadmap development
Strong expertise within the Salesforce ecosystem
experience with nonprofit implementations is highly preferred
Experience overseeing enterprise system integrations and vendor relationships
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and build alignment across long-tenured teams
Comfortable stepping into interim, transformation-oriented environments
Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
Experience in nonprofit, financial services, or similarly complex organizational environments is a plus
