The Strategic Advisor – NPS & Public Lands will serve as a senior-level advisor to the President of the line of business, providing expert guidance on matters related to the National Park Service (NPS), other federal and state public land agencies, and associated regulatory frameworks. This role is critical in shaping strategic direction, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the development of compelling responses to Prospectus proposals. The Advisor will act as a liaison with public land agencies, monitor policy developments, and contribute to positioning the company as a trusted and innovative concessioner.
Job Responsibility:
Policy & Regulatory Advisory: Monitor, analyze, and interpret NPS and other public land agency policies, regulations, and guidance documents
Advise executive leadership on implications of regulatory changes and strategic opportunities
Ensure alignment of business practices with applicable laws, regulations, and concession contract requirements
Agency Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with NPS and other public land agency personnel
Represent the company in meetings, forums, and industry events related to public lands and concessions
Prospectus Proposal Support: Assist in the preparation, review, and strategic positioning of responses to NPS and other Prospectus solicitations
Provide insights on operational feasibility, regulatory compliance, and competitive differentiation
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure high-quality submissions
Strategic Planning & Risk Assessment: Identify emerging trends and risks in public land management and concession operations
Support long-term strategic planning and business development initiatives related to public lands
Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with legal, operations, finance, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive strategy and execution
Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on public land policies and best practices
Requirements:
Extensive experience (15+ years) working with or within the National Park Service or other public land agencies
Deep understanding of federal concession policies, regulations, and contract structures
Proven track record of successful engagement with NPS and/or development of Prospectus responses
Strong analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s degree required
