Job Description

An established and rapidly growing early-stage investment firm is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join its leadership team. This is a highly visible role that will work directly with the firm's partners and leadership team, helping drive both the financial infrastructure and operational growth of the organization. The firm manages multiple investment vehicles, is actively raising additional capital, and offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in scaling the business during an exciting period of growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee fund and management company accounting activities
  • Manage financial reporting, audits, and fund administration relationships
  • Review capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
  • Support portfolio valuation processes
  • Maintain financial controls and operational best practices
  • Support fundraising and investor relations processes
  • Partner with leadership on operational initiatives and special projects
  • Evaluate and improve internal systems, workflows, and technology
  • Assist with implementation of new tools and automation initiatives, including AI-driven solutions
  • Contribute to firmwide operational strategy and scaling efforts

Requirements

  • 8+ years of venture capital fund accounting and finance experience
  • Prior experience within a venture capital firm strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting portfolio valuation processes
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, fund operations, and investor reporting
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
