Job Description

CLEAR is seeking a Vice President of Communications to join its Corporate Affairs team. This role will shape and lead CLEAR’s communications strategy across public policy, government affairs, and corporate communications, advancing the company’s priorities, protecting its reputation, and positioning CLEAR as a trusted voice with policymakers, media, and key stakeholders. Reporting to the EVP, Corporate Affairs, the VP of Communications will serve as an advisor to executive leadership and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, high-impact communications in a dynamic and highly visible environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Set and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with CLEAR’s business objectives, public affairs and policy priorities, and long-term growth
  • Oversee external communications including press releases, op-eds, executive communications, and briefings, developing compelling narratives and messaging that resonate with policymakers, regulators, media, partners, and consumers
  • Drive proactive media engagement, pitch original story ideas, and position CLEAR’s leaders as thought leaders with key audiences
  • Lead communications strategy during issues management and crisis situations, ensuring clarity, consistency, and credibility
  • Translate complex policy, data, and industry insights into clear, persuasive communications for internal and external use
  • Act as a central hub of knowledge within Corporate Affairs, connecting policy insights, communications strategy, and business objectives
  • Collaborate closely with Public Affairs, Legal, Product, Marketing, and other teams to ensure coordinated and effective communications
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with top-tier business, technology, and media

Requirements

  • 12+ years of communications experience with demonstrated success leading at the executive level
  • Proven ability to design and execute a sophisticated communications strategy in complex, regulated, or high-profile environments
  • Established relationships with business, technology, and/or media
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience advising senior executives and shaping leadership messaging
  • Strong judgment, sound instincts, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure
  • Strategic, creative, and outcomes-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving organization
