Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned network engineering leader to guide VOIS India in executing Vodafone’s network engineering strategy across design, transformation, and delivery. This role leads next‑generation infrastructure initiatives across mobile, transport, and cloud domains, while driving innovation, digital transformation, and the commercialisation of network services. The position is based in Pune, India.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Off‑Shore NSE‑VOIS India organisation with a clear and aligned network engineering roadmap
  • Oversee transformation across SDN, NFV, 5G, and cloud‑native architectures
  • Drive adoption of orchestration, automation, and agile delivery frameworks
  • Champion secure‑by‑design principles across network functions and software deployments
  • Ensure excellence in service quality, operational performance, and cost‑effectiveness for customers
  • Strengthen cross‑centre collaboration for digital delivery and transformation of existing and emerging services
  • Shape organisational design to enable end‑to‑end network commercialisation
  • Evaluate emerging and AI‑led network technologies to strengthen network performance and transformation outcomes
  • Define, design, and deliver end‑to‑end technical solutions for commercialised network services aligned with customer contracts
  • Lead financial governance and cost modelling for commercialised network services
  • Manage and develop large, diverse engineering teams with a strong focus on inclusivity and engagement

Requirements

  • Over 15 years’ experience in telecom network engineering, including 5 years in senior leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in SDN, NFV, 4G/5G, cloud infrastructure, and network security
  • Deep understanding of Vodafone’s financial systems, cost modelling, and operational frameworks
  • Experience in leading large‑scale network operations, engineering, and transformation programmes
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Preferred: certifications such as CCIE, AWS, Kubernetes
  • experience with Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, and open‑source orchestration tools
  • familiarity with agile methodologies
