Job Description

DKC is searching for a dynamic communications pro with 10+ years of consumer lifestyle PR experience to join and help continue to grow our practice in New York. This is a leadership role requiring the executive to drive strategy and manage a team handling a mix of clients from entrepreneurs and startups to popular household names and industry leaders. This position sits at the intersection of brand and entertainment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of consumer lifestyle PR experience
  • dynamic communications pro
  • leadership role requiring executive to drive strategy and manage a team
  • comfortable managing a roster of 6-8 accounts
  • natural storyteller with ability to create sophisticated narratives for different audiences
  • established network of go-to media contacts with ability to place feature stories, score commentary opportunities, negotiate exclusives, and build choreographed launch plans
  • ability to develop and present strategic memos/plans aligning with client priorities and goals
  • strong writer and proficient editor
  • enthusiasm for hybrid work environment and understanding of collaboration/teamwork
  • passion and confidence in navigating evolving consumer landscapes
  • enjoy counseling and advising clients on strategy, challenges, opportunities, and trends
  • proven track record of developing and executing holistic PR strategies utilizing full communications mix (media relations, influencer outreach, talent relations, thought-leadership campaigns, celebrity/brand partnerships, experiential activations)
  • experience working as part of integrated team representing PR POV while applying big picture thinking
  • ability to participate in new business process (scouting, brainstorming, proposal development, presenting, contracting, onboarding)
  • take pride in mentoring team members
