Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and highly credible consultant relations leader to join Alight as Vice President, Consultant Relations – Leaves, Absence & Disability. This role is responsible for building, deepening, and sustaining multi‑level relationships across the consulting and brokerage firms that influence employer decisions related to leave of absence, disability, and integrated absence management solutions. This role plays a critical part in driving growth, strengthening advocacy, and positioning Alight as a market-shaping authority within the leaves and disability ecosystem.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and manage strategic, multi‑level relationships within consulting and brokerage firms, including executive leadership, national and regional practice leaders, subject‑matter experts, and field consultants
  • Establish and maintain credibility ownership for Alight across the leaves, absence, and disability market—ensuring the firm is trusted, understood, and appropriately positioned at all levels of influence
  • Act as Alight’s senior representative within the consultant community, shaping perception through consistent presence, insight, and follow‑through
  • Drive indirect revenue accountability by expanding Alight’s influence within broker and consultant books of business tied to leave and disability solutions
  • Partner with sales leadership to translate consultant relationships into measurable pipeline impact, including opportunity creation, RFP inclusion, finalist positioning, and win rate improvement
  • Influence growth not through transactional selling, but through early-stage positioning, sustained advocacy, and trusted advisor status
  • Serve as a central point for competitive intelligence, maintaining a clear understanding of how competitors are positioned, evaluated, and recommended by consultants
  • Monitor and interpret trends impacting the leaves and disability marketplace, including regulatory complexity, compliance risk, technology enablement, service delivery expectations, and vendor consolidation
  • Use market insight to proactively shape Alight’s positioning, messaging, and strategic priorities
  • Elevate Alight’s presence as a thought leader and market shaper by engaging consultants in forward-looking discussions about the future of leave and disability administration
  • Influence how consultants frame problems, evaluate solutions, and guide employer decision-making—beyond individual deals
  • Support the development of differentiated narratives that reinforce Alight’s leadership and long-term relevance
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product, delivery, marketing, and executive leadership to ensure consultant feedback informs strategy and execution
  • Own consultant and broker reporting, including broker book of business visibility, relationship coverage, influence tracking, and performance metrics
  • Lead consultant-related escalations, ensuring issues are addressed decisively, relationships are protected, and trust is preserved
  • Establish and monitor KPIs that reflect relationship depth, influence effectiveness, credibility, and revenue impact, not just activity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • advanced degree preferred
  • Significant experience in consultant relations, advisory leadership, or benefits sales within the leaves, absence, disability, or broader health and benefits ecosystem
  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable influence and indirect revenue growth through consultant and broker channels
  • Deep familiarity with how leave and disability consultants evaluate vendors, shape RFPs, and influence employer decisions
  • Proven success managing multi‑level relationships within complex consulting and brokerage organizations
  • Strong executive presence paired with credibility among hands‑on practitioners and subject‑matter experts
  • Strategic, market‑oriented mindset with strong judgment and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills across executive briefings, consultant engagements, and internal leadership forums
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed environment with accountability but without direct line authority
