Job Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join Actuary team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Beijing Office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide actuarial and financial modelling consulting services to clients and colleagues timely
  • Present technical results in an intelligible way and provide insights to stakeholders
  • Model the probability distributions of the gross/ceded/net underwriting results of an (re)insurance client
  • Utilise cost/benefit analysis to advise brokers and clients "optimal" reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance levels
  • Respond to client queries and concerns, provide innovative but practical solution to clients in a timely manner
  • Document external correspondence and telephone conversations in accordance with GC procedures and Professional Standards
  • Provide technical training to clients and colleagues

Requirements:

  • Qualified or near qualified actuary with at least 8 years of general insurance experience
  • Technical expertise in reinsurance experience in general insurance area (preferred)
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written
  • Excellent communications, presentations and project management skills
  • Strong ability to handle significant workflow through efficient time management
  • Strong ability to identify and solve potential problems in their specialty and develop creative solutions
  • Understanding of the product lines and industry conditions to identify significant considerations that insurers should address in designing their programs
  • Well-versed in office software
  • Knowledge or R or Python preferred
