Job Description

The Vice President (VP) within Consumer Credit Risk plays a critical role in the design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support of credit risk rules and strategies that drive consumer lending decisions. This role supports the end‑to‑end lifecycle of credit risk rule development and validation, including credit line strategies, authorization rules, and adjudication actions across multiple risk platforms. The VP will partner closely with Credit Risk, Technology, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure credit risk strategies are accurately built, thoroughly tested, compliant with regulatory expectations, and stable in production.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze, design, and implement credit risk rules and strategies supporting credit line increase/decrease, authorization decisions, and credit risk decision actions
  • Build, enhance, and maintain rules within credit risk decisioning platforms, including SAS-based tools
  • Execute unit testing for all rule build activities to validate logic, data usage, and outcomes prior to broader testing phases
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Business Object Model (BOM) data used for rule execution, reporting, and analytics
  • Support production deployments, daily jobs, and monitoring processes to ensure strategies execute as intended
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and collaboration with technology teams
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test scripts for credit risk models, decision engines, and business rules
  • Validate the functional, operational, and regulatory accuracy of new and existing credit risk strategies prior to deployment
  • Oversee defect identification, tracking, resolution, and retesting, ensuring timely and accurate remediation
  • Ensure testing coverage reflects all relevant risk factors, decision logic, and compliance requirements
  • Continuously improve testing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer credit risk, consumer banking, or financial services
  • Hands-on experience in credit risk rules build and/or credit risk testing and validation within decisioning platforms
  • Experience supporting credit line management, authorization, or consumer credit risk strategies
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk management concepts, credit products, and end-to-end decisioning processes
  • Proficiency in Jira, SAS (Base and Advanced), with experience in SAS FMS / SAS Raptor preferred
  • Strong SQL skills
  • experience working with large transactional datasets
  • Solid statistical knowledge and ability to analyze authorization or decision data to identify trends and anomalies
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction while collaborating effectively within teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex risk or testing concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated accountability, self-motivation, and strong business acumen
