Performs nursing assistance and personal care for residents with physical and/or mental impairments adhering to State and Federal regulatory guidelines
Performs treatment measures as directed by clinical staff
Continually inspects and checks residents in the assigned areas to ensure comfort and safety
Performs routine straightening and organizing of the residents units
Performs effective infection control practices utilizing universal precautions in resident care
Requirements:
Successful completion of an Illinois approved Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program consisting of a minimum of 120 hours of instruction which shall include at least 80 hours of theoretical instruction and 40 hours of clinical practice
Inclusion on the Illinois Department of Public Health Nurse Aide Registry within 60 days of hire
A health inventory and physical examination no more than 30 days prior to and no more than 30 days after the initial employment in the facility, including a required tuberculin test
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical
Ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance
Ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
Ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers
Ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties
Ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
Ability to perform heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)) involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime
