Job Description

As a Venture Partner, you will join the Strategy team to evaluate QIC ecosystem, identify capability gaps, and drive build-or-buy decisions that accelerate our growth. The QIC Strategy team shapes how the super app expands — from identifying what's missing in our product portfolio to sourcing and integrating the right startups and solutions. Our mission is to make smart, fast decisions on where to build internally and where to partner or acquire, so QIC stays ahead in the GCC digital market.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct a continuous audit of QIC digital hub's product ecosystem to identify strategic gaps and white spaces across our verticals (insurance, auto, travel, fintech, lifestyle)
  • Define and apply a repeatable build/buy/partner framework, working with Product, Engineering, and Finance to compare internal build cost and timeline against external solutions
  • Source and evaluate SaaS vendors, platforms, and technology solutions as potential 'buy' candidates: fit, integration complexity, pricing, and lock-in risk
  • Proactively scout startups in MENA and globally across insurtech, fintech, mobility, travel tech, and AI — maintain a live deal pipeline
  • Run first-stage startup evaluations: team quality, product-market fit, technical readiness, and alignment with QIC's ecosystem strategy
  • Produce clear investment and partnership memos with go/no-go recommendations for C-level stakeholders
  • Coordinate due diligence sessions with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance for approved candidates
  • Define integration roadmaps for new partnerships and track post-integration KPIs

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in strategy, corporate development, venture capital, or startup ecosystem roles — ideally a combination
  • Demonstrated track record of producing build/buy/partner analyses that influenced real business decisions
  • Deep familiarity with at least one of our core verticals: insurtech, fintech, mobility, travel tech, or super-app platforms
  • Experience working in or with GCC / MENA markets is a strong advantage
  • Structured, data-driven thinking with the ability to write concise executive-ready memos and present to senior stakeholders
  • Technical fluency — enough to evaluate integration complexity and discuss API readiness with Engineering teams
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving, remote-first environment
  • English level B2 or higher

Nice to have

Experience working in or with GCC / MENA markets
