Job Description

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Vehicle Operator (Air Terminal) to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.

Job Responsibility

  • Operating vehicles and specialized equipment in support of air terminal and flight‑line operations in accordance with U.S. Navy transportation and airfield safety standards
  • Transporting passengers, cargo, baggage, and equipment between air terminal facilities, aircraft parking areas, and designated staging locations
  • Conducting pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring vehicles are operated safely around aircraft
  • Following airfield driving procedures and instructions from air terminal and airfield operations personnel
  • Maintaining situational awareness in high‑traffic environments
  • Complying with all flight‑line safety requirements
  • Assisting with cargo or baggage handling as directed
  • Maintaining cleanliness of assigned vehicles
  • Reporting mechanical or safety issues
  • Supporting mission‑critical air terminal operations in a remote, fast‑paced environment

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience operating vehicles in transportation, logistics, or air terminal environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle operation, safety procedures, and traffic regulations
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and around aircraft
  • Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization

  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
