Job Description

Coordinate ORU robustness testing and support the release statements for the vehicles sold in the North American market which will support over the air updates; coordinate test plan with partners to ensure proper testing and resources are planned; plan and organize needed parts and vehicles; assure that all test information is provided, ensuring relevance to the region; ensure that all test orders are performed on each component/control module in each of the necessary vehicle and powertrain configurations for defined test phases; create regular status reports as requested by partner teams; support release recommendation for ORU Robustness for software and hardware tested; ensure complete documentation (failure report, vehicle protocol, network traces) on electrical communication errors during the launch phase of vehicles which will support ORU; ensure error documentation uploads to the central database and follows up directly with responsible engineers for resolution; provide regular reports of failure ticket status to partners in VWAG and Chattanooga; attend the Fehlerrunde and Task Force meetings as needed in order to resolve failure tickets quickly; test over-the-air updates of various vehicle control modules; troubleshoot as necessary; update test vehicle fleet via hardware installations, software updates, etc.; track/update the vehicle configurations in our tracking systems; provide guidance, advice, feedback and support to the team members with less experience; ensure specialized knowledge and team processes are well documented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic, Industrial, or Automotive Engineering or related field of study and 60 months of experience. Experience must have included: testing automotive electronic system and automotive control modules
  • automotive control module root cause analysis
  • understanding of vehicle communication networks and the ability to capture traces
  • electric vehicle system architectures
  • troubleshooting communication breakdowns within the network by analyzing the network communication. Domestic and international travel up to 20%.
