Job Description:

The Electrical BIM Detailer develops detailed coordination drawings and fabrication electrical pathways of underground, above ground, under floor, overhead equipment, ceilings and electrical rooms.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop detailed, two-dimensional and three-dimensional conduits, cable tray and equipment drawings for coordination with other trades and prefabrication based on the particular job specifications and design documents
  • Coordinates architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical designs
  • Run Clash Detection using Navis Manage for project coordination
  • Applying skills to produce shop drawings consistent with prefabrication guidelines and standards
  • Reading floor plans, section and elevations; Understanding layering and pen weights
  • Able to function productively with little instruction on daily work and under general instructions on new assignments
  • Develops schematic and detailed level models, Identifies conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design information
  • Creates new family/library components

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of commercial electrical experience
  • 1 year of experience using Revit or AutoCAD preferred
  • High School Diploma, GED or Associate Degree/Diploma
  • Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks AEC Certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of the NEC
  • Experience with BIM coordination
  • Fundamentals of electrical design and construction installation methods
  • Understanding of construction blueprints (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Basic knowledge of construction protocol & ability to interpret construction documents
  • Experience with electrical construction principles, products, and installation methods
  • Experience with REVIT, AutoCAD MEP or Navisworks
  • Basic knowledge of building electrical code
