The Vascular Technician will perform arterial and venous diagnostic procedures using high frequency sound waves on adult patients to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting the circulation. Collaborates with physician in charge and Operations Manager on technical issues and equipment performance QA. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed. **This is a PRN position**
Job Responsibility:
Completes patients' medical history, evaluate pulses and assess blood flow in arteries and veins by listening to the vascular flow sounds for abnormalities, and assure the appropriate vascular test has been ordered
Conducts basic equipment maintenance, quality control measures, and report abnormal findings (if immediate attention is indicated)
Completes necessary documentation, charge capture, logs and records
Attends regularly scheduled QA meetings for the vascular department
Confirms appointments with patients and follows patient scheduling protocols
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to interact w/people from different backgrounds and cultures
Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion
Must have knowledge of and follow HIPPA guidelines and secure Protected Health Information at all times
High school diploma or GED required
Must be a Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) through Cardiovascular credentialing International (CCI), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Current BLS, ACLS and CPR Cert required
2-5 yrs of work experience in Vascular Required
