Job Description:

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute announces a new hospital-employed opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute's Vascular Surgery Team. This person will function in the clinic setting, taking care of a broad spectrum of vascular medical conditions. The successful applicant will be responsible for the initial evaluations, pre and post procedural care, chronic management, and may perform minor in-office procedures and wound care in the office setting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments
  • Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care
  • Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications
  • Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations
  • Determines treatment plan for patient
  • Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record
  • Acts as a patient advocate for the population served
  • Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested
  • Interest in working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • No call or weekend coverage

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
  • Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina
  • Prescriptive privileges and DEA license required
  • BLS/ACLS Certified
  • +1 years of experience, Cardiology or Vascular medicine preferred

Nice to have:

  • Acute care certified nurse practitioners preferred but FNP certification accepted
  • Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required
  • Cardiology or Vascular medicine preferred

  • Accurately demonstrates pseudoaneurysms of the groin, locates the area, correctly measures & documents with doppler according to criteria & protocol
