An exciting opportunity has arisen in the form of a newly created post working within the Medical Imaging and Vascular Access booking teams to play a pivotal part in the delivery of high quality and timely patient pathways associated with both Medical Imaging and Vascular Access processes, referrals and results. This role is key to supporting both departments to meet important patient pathway milestones.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively challenge and chase patient appointments, test results and investigations
Work in close collaboration with the Vascular Access team, Medical Imaging Systems Team, cancer MDT coordinators, imaging booking clerks, Radiologists and Modality Leads
Administration of Lung Cancer Screening and Mutual Aid processes
Booking of Imaging GP and outpatient appointments
Booking and administration of Vascular Access appointments and outcomes
Prioritise own workload and respond quickly and with flexibility to changing deadlines
Provide and receive complex and sensitive information with high levels of compliance against confidentiality and information governance standards
Identify and seek to resolve bottlenecks or delays in the patients pathways, escalating issues where necessary
Requirements:
Knowledge of the workings of an NHS Radiology department, including in-depth understanding of the different modalities, what/who is involved in performing a variety of examinations and what preparation of patients is sometimes required

Substantial NHS or similar healthcare background
Significant general clerical experience
Direct telephone contact with clients/staff

Comprehensive practical experience of electronic patient record systems including the following: Radiology Information System (e.g. CRIS) Patient Administration System (PAS)
ICE
Image Exchange Portal Experience of Excel
Good general level of education to GCSE standard or equivalent, including GCSE English & Maths
NVQ level 3 in customer care or relevant experience
Nice to have:
Knowledge of current health care issues
Understanding of the role of an Imaging dept as it impacts upon managing patient flow throughout the hospital
