Job Description

Permanent full-time position working Monday - Friday. Commitment required to work 6:30am - 2:21pm (some flexibility with times required). As our Van Driver in Townsville, you’ll be picking up from packages and parcels from Post Offices in our vans as the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting Australians every single day. You’ll be working autonomously out on-the-road, interacting with others and being a team player. Paired up with our experienced senior drivers, who are committed to engage and take part in your professional development.

Job Responsibility

  • Safely perform and operate a van to perform duties such as picking up mail from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices and Delivery Centres
  • Pick up mail and parcel items from our customers
  • Unload mail articles from vans and manually sorting them into small or large letters and parcels including express posts
  • Complete your own daily vehicle safety check

Requirements

  • Hold a full or probationary QLD driver’s licence and have a good driving record
  • Experience driving a van or similar sized vehicle
  • Willing to take a pre-employment van driving assessment (automatic)
  • Flexible with working additional hours if required
  • Have a great memory, excellent attention to detail and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
  • Comfortable being on your feet, in and out of a vehicle frequently, and doing physical indoor and outdoor work
  • Happy to handle packages that may contain food or alcohol
  • Need to meet our safe working seat/seatbelt limit of weighing 130kgs or less
