We are currently looking for a committed Van Driver / Relief LGV Driver to join our friendly and professional team in Bridgwater. This role is pivotal to our ongoing success, ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials to our valued customers across Bridgwater and the surrounding areas. As a Van Driver / Relief LGV Driver, you will play a key part in maintaining our reputation by providing a dependable and courteous service every day.

Job Responsibility

  • Safely driving a company van or LGV to deliver building supplies and retail goods to customers on scheduled routes
  • Loading and unloading stock, ensuring goods are handled with care and secured properly during transport
  • Maintaining accurate delivery records and providing excellent customer service at all times
  • Acting as a relief LGV driver when required, stepping in to cover absences and busy periods
  • Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations including safe driving practices and manual handling guidelines
  • Working closely with yard and sales teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence for van and LGV categories (C1 or full LGV licence preferred)
  • Proven experience as a driver
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to cover relief driving duties
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
