Job Description:

Provides chauffeur service for including transportation of patients to and from Oncology Outpatient Services locations in Beebe Healthcare vehicle.

Job Responsibility:

  • Transport patients to and from medical center within Sussex County, Delaware
  • Operates medical center owned vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle and notifies appropriate individual regarding vehicle need for maintenance
  • Prepares and maintains adequate transportation logs, vehicle fuel consumption log, and other data as requested
  • Maintains established medical center policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
  • Assists patients from home into vehicle and from vehicle into medical center
  • Maintains a positive demeanor at all times
  • Assists medical center in the transporting of other medical center items as directed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous driving experience (professional transport experience preferred)
  • Experience working with elderly or medically vulnerable populations preferred
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) may be required depending on vehicle type
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or required within a specified timeframe)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to drive a vehicle
  • Must be able to read and write and understand written and oral instructions
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be physically able to assist others up steps and into wheelchair lifts
