As our Valve Clinic Coordinator RN, you will report to the Valve Clinic Nurse Manager. You will assist with all aspects of the valve clinic, weekly meetings, and procedural days as directed by the Valve Nurse Manager to include but not limited to: scheduling evaluations, follow-ups, procedural scheduling, and maintaining databases.Every day, you will assist in the overall patient experience and manage the Valve Clinic in the absence of the Valve Clinic Manager. This involves proactive coordination, compassionate patient interaction, and meticulous administrative support to ensure seamless clinic operations and optimal patient care.To be successful in your role, you will strategically assist and coordinate all aspects of the Valve Clinic, ensuring seamless operations, meticulous scheduling, and comprehensive database management. You will demonstrate exceptional leadership in managing the clinic in the absence of the Valve Clinic Manager, consistently enhancing the overall patient experience, and providing crucial support for evaluations, follow-ups, and procedural scheduling.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with all aspects of the valve clinic, weekly meetings, and procedural days as directed by the Valve Nurse Manager to include but not limited to: scheduling evaluations, follow-ups, procedural scheduling, and maintaining databases
Assist in the overall patient experience and manage the Valve Clinic in the absence of the Valve Clinic Manager
Ensure up to date knowledge of practice standards, protocols, procedures and most recent research applicable to the heart valve patient
Maintain and demonstrate clinical expertise in the area of structural heart
Attend training and updates courses and conferences, as appropriate or requested
In collaboration with the program director, develop and implement standards of care and practice pursuant to regulatory guidelines and requirements for the structural heart program
Conduct rounding on patients and communicate with multidisciplinary team members regarding aspects of standards of care and application of clinical practice guidelines
Work with and serve as a resource to staff, as appropriate
Participate in hospital wide committees and task forces as required for program management
Collaboratively work with department director, physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop, implement and revise care pathways, treatment algorithms, order sets and valve clinic processes
Requirements:
Graduate of accredited nursing school and 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Cardiology, Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery or Emergency Department, upon hire
Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
