Job Description

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent team of subject matter experts within the Finance Division. VCG's primary responsibility is to reasonably ensure that risk portfolios are fairly valued in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. In doing so, the team works closely with its stakeholders, including senior management, business heads, product controllers, market risk, regulators, and both internal and external audit. As part of the team of diverse and supportive professionals, the main tasks are concerned with performing valuation control processes for various businesses within Citi's Institutional Clients Group. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work within the Valuation Control Group as a senior finance analyst.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform valuation control related core production: Independent Price Verification (IPV), Valuation Adjustments, Fair Value Levelling
  • Take full ownership of identified valuation discrepancies, conducting thorough investigations into root causes, collaborating with relevant teams for timely resolution, and clearly communicating findings to management
  • Drive the development, enhancement, and documentation of valuation control policies, procedures, and methodologies with particular attention to the design of controls, incorporating evolving industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters requiring attention, audit findings and reporting demands associated with the area of responsibility
  • Represent VCG in various cross-functional initiatives, working groups, and discussions with internal and external auditors or regulatory bodies
  • Actively contribute to strategic projects aimed at strengthening the firm's valuation control framework and improving operational efficiency
  • People management dependent on the scope of the position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative discipline
  • 8-10 years' professional experience in Finance (preferably in Valuations, Product Control, Risk, Financial Control, or similar functions)
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of current global accounting and regulatory developments pertaining to valuation of financial instruments
  • In-depth knowledge of a broad range of financial instruments, market dynamics, and valuation methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy with special regards to Microsoft Excel
