Valuation Control Senior Analyst - Assistant Vice President role at Citi's Finance Valuation Control Team. The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent team of subject matter experts within the Finance Division. VCG's primary responsibility is to reasonably ensure that risk portfolios are fairly valued in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Perform valuation control related core production: Independent Price Verification (IPV), Valuation Adjustments, Fair Value Levelling
Take full ownership of identified valuation discrepancies, conducting thorough investigations into root causes, collaborating with relevant teams for timely resolution, and clearly communicating findings to management
Drive the development, enhancement, and documentation of valuation control policies, procedures, and methodologies with particular attention to the design of controls, incorporating evolving industry best practices and regulatory requirements
Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters requiring attention, audit findings and reporting demands associated with the area of responsibility
Represent VCG in various cross-functional initiatives, working groups, and discussions with internal and external auditors or regulatory bodies
Actively contribute to strategic projects aimed at strengthening the firm's valuation control framework and improving operational efficiency
People management dependent on the level and scope of the position
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative discipline
5-10 years' professional experience in Finance (preferably in Valuations, Product Control, Risk, Financial Control, or similar functions)
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Strong understanding of current global accounting and regulatory developments pertaining to valuation of financial instruments
In-depth knowledge of a broad range of financial instruments, market dynamics, and valuation methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer literacy with special regards to Microsoft Excel
Nice to have:
Experience in leading, mentoring, or coaching teams is highly desirable for certain roles within this function
